Beth Fairservis, MPC
Beth has been counseling individuals and mentoring families for over 10 years in Western, Mass.
She has a Masters Degree in Buddhist Pastoral Counseling and Body-Centered Spiritual Psychotherapy from the Graduate Theological Foundation and the Hartford Family Institute. She is an ordained Shuso in the Soto Zen Buddhist tradition and she has a B.A in Philosophy from Vassar College.
Her previous work as an InnerBonding® counselor and Birthing From Within® child birth mentor, and arts educator brought her in touch with the many ways that our community is affected by our modern day isolating lifestyles. As a certified Mother Woman® group facilitator she lead new mother groups at Cradle in Northampton, Ma. She also guided children in her at home Puppets in the Woods camps and homeschool program. And was an early childhood teacher at the Hartsbrook Waldorf School.
Beth was a child actor and performed often with SRO Theater and East West Fusion Theater. She has years of study in improvisational theater, working with Rachel Rosenthal, Meredith Monk, Ricardo Puccetti, Double Edge Theater, Sandglass Puppet Theater and at was a resident at Earth Dance Retreat Center.
Throughout her years of study and practice, she has also produced large scale theater events about climate change beginning in 2005. Utilizing giant puppets and community organization she has sought to awaken the Western Mass community, and beyond, to difficult subjects through beauty, fun and the magic of the unusual.
Most recently she co-founded MuZen Theater with her husband, Cellist Stephen Katz.
