Beth Fairservis, MPC
Beth has been counseling individuals and mentoring families for over 10 years in Western, Mass.
She has a Masters Degree in Buddhist Pastoral Counseling and Body-Centered Spiritual Psychotherapy from the Graduate Theological Foundation and the Hartford Family Institute. She is an ordained Shuso in the Soto Zen Buddhist tradition and has a B.A in Philosophy from Vassar College.
Beth also has extensive experience with the InnerBonding® counseling program and was previously a Birthing From Within® child birth educator, doula and a MotherWoman group facilitator.
Beth is a dedicated Eco-Artist and has extensively explored the relationship between embodied creative expression about our intimate connection with the earth and our psychological wellbeing. Over the past 20 years she has directed performance art, dances, giant puppet parades and rituals with children, adults and organizations, that directly address climate change, nuclear war, and racism. She co-founded MuZen Theater with her husband Cellist, Stephen Katz, and performs regularly in the valley and beyond.
Beth's Theater Training: From the age of 5, Beth began studying and performing dance and theater. As a child actor she performed often with SRO Theater and East West Fusion Theater, in Sharon Ct. She studied performance art with Rachel Rosenthal and Meredith Monk. Clown work with Ricardo Puccetti of Lume Clown Theater. Ensemble Theater practices with Double Edge Theater and the Center for Theater Practices in Gardziniece, Poland. She has also studied puppet performance with Sandglass Puppet Theater.
